Meet Our Team

Since 1990, the Old Firehouse Community Center has been a place of diverse culture and immense philosophy. Standing on firm principles, while helping students of all skill level, age, and ability come to a balance of mind and body. John Hoffmaster

Founder & CEO

John began the ministry of OFCC in 1990. His love for the Black Oak  community has been shown in his years of commitment to the people and his students. John aspires to accomplish the following three things:

1) Fulfill the Great Commission by preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, helping the lost to find Christ and helping believers grow in Christ-likeness, while becoming active members in a local church.

2) Fulfill the Great Commandment by loving God, loving each other and loving our neighbors. And in this love…

3) Preach the gospel of the kingdom, seeking to transform our community so that, more and more, it bears the marks of God’s coming kingdom.

During his tenure he has taught thousands of students, and led many of them to the loving grace of the Lord. John has always been ministry minded, and has used martial arts as an avenue to share the gospel. As John has persued other avenues of spreading God's word, he has taken a step back from full time teaching at OFCC.

John is married to his lovely wife Pam, and they reside in Schererville, Indiana. John and Pam have been blessed with two children and many grandchildren.
